Flat-Coated Retrievers and Agility

What is an AGILITY TRIAL?

It is an athletic event that requires conditioning, concentration, training and teamwork. Dog and handlers negotiate an obstacle course racing against the clock.  Some of the obstacles include various jumps, A-frame, dog walk, teeter, table, tire, closed and open tunnels, and weave poles.  There are several classes offering increasing levels of difficulty.   There are numerous venues that offer agility:  American Kennel Club (AKC), Canine Performance Events (CPE), North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC), and United Kennel Club (UKC), to name a few.  Go to the Flat-Coated Retriever Resource Page for links to their websites for additional information.
