Handfull Qualifies for the FCRSA Hall Of Fame

The Hall of Fame of the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America, Inc., honors Flat-Coated Retrievers that have achieved extraordinary success in their chosen fields, and at the same time have proven that they reflect the dual purpose nature of the breed. Inherent in the application for admission to the Hall of Fame is the intention to foster the historical concept of the Flat-Coated Retriever as a dual purpose dog and to see this exhibited in each individual dog.

The owner or breeder of the dog can apply for admittance to the FCRSA Hall of Fame by meeting the following requirements:

  • Earn a minimum of 175 points based on their accomplishments;
  • Earn a conformation championship; and
  • Earn a Junior Hunting Retriever (JH) or Working Certificate Excellent (WCX) title.

Handfull has earned 220 points, along with her AKC conformation championship, and Junior Hunter title.  She will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at a ceremony held each year at the FCRSA National Specialty.

Handfull is the best of her mother Caris and grandmother Tralee.  She is a beautiful Flat-Coated Retriever, and she is clever, passing her first AKC tracking dog test (TD) at 10 months and earning her Champion Tracker (CT) at 3 years. She is an energetic, fun-loving companion, versatile in her learning aptitudes.  It is what I like most about the breed!  Handfull is my first FCR to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and I am honored and thrilled.  Having bred, trained, and handled her myself makes it all the sweeter!

Kingsbridge Girls Earn Nosework Titles in 2020

Caris earned her NACSW NW3-Elite in Aurora, Il on September 2020, and her grand-daughter, Promise, earned her NW1 in Altamont, IL in August 2020.   Promise also finished her AKC Scent Work Novice (SWN) title in Springfield, IL in October 2020.  Finally, both Caris and Handfull completed their UKC Elite Nosework titles in Joliet, IL on October 24, 2020.  What will these girls do in 2021?

Caris, Handfull and Promise earn AKC trick dog titles

Despite the coronavirus pandemic and “stay-at-home” orders, the Kingsbridge girls are practicing tricks and earning trick dog titles via video.  Caris and Handfull earned their Trick Dog Advanced titles (TKA) and Promise earned her Novice and Intermediate titles (TKN and TKI).  They are all working on the next levels to stay sharp for when performance events open up again.

2019 Was A GREAT Year!

Caris earned 11 nosework titles in NACSW, UKC and C-WAGS in 2019.  Her daughter, Handfull, earned 2 agility titles, 2 tracking titles, and 19 nosework titles.  Most notably Handfull earned her Champion Tracker and NW3 Elite.  Promise, Handfull’s puppy, is in training and ready to start work in 2020!  Go Kingsbridge girls!

Puppies are here!

Handfull and her puppiesFour boys and four girls were born on June 11, 2019.  They are all black, wiggly, active, nursing and gaining weight daily.  Handfull is a wonderful mother keeping them safe, warm, nursing and cleaning up after them.  The largest pup was 1 lb 2.5 oz and the smallest 14 oz.

Kingsbridge girls score in 2017!

Caris earned 14 titles this year including agility, nose work and trick dog. Handfull earned 11 titles in rally, obedience, agility, nose work, tracking, tricks, conformation and Canine Good Citizen. These performances demonstrate the versatility of Flat-Coated Retrievers.  Both Caris and Handfull were trained and handled by Kathleen Stevens.
